Draft for review. This has not been checked by a lawyer and should not be relied on until a person has read it against the app and signed it off. Parts in [square brackets] are still to be filled in.
Privacy notice
Last updated: 2 November 2026 (draft)
The short version
- Flowbient has no accounts, no adverts and no analytics or tracking. We do not collect your information.
- Your settings, tasks, habits and history are saved on your own device and nowhere else.
- Two things talk to other computers, and only if you use them: the host that sends you the web app, and the stream page if you give it a Twitch channel.
Who we are
Flowbient is made by Way of the Pigeon Ltd [registered number and address to be added]. For anything about your information, write to support@flowbient.com.
What stays on your device
When you use the app, it saves what you do so it is there next time: your settings, the sounds in your mix, your tasks and habits, your timer rounds and the history behind Insights, and your custom presets. Where that goes depends on how you run it.
- In a browser: in that browser's own storage on your device (IndexedDB), plus one small note in local storage that records whether the app has already asked about notifications. Clearing your browsing data for the site clears it.
- The Windows app: a file called
flowbient.jsonin the app's data folder, with a backup copy beside it. - Phone apps: the app's own storage on the phone. (The phone apps are not released yet.)
None of this is sent to us. We cannot see it, recover it or delete it for you. You can export it, import it, or delete it yourself. Backup and CSV files you export are made on your device and saved wherever you choose.
What we collect
Nothing, today. Flowbient does not ask you to sign up, does not set tracking cookies, has no analytics or advertising code, and does not send your usage anywhere. The fonts and sounds are part of the app, so loading it does not call a font or audio service either.
The company that sends you the web app
Visiting the web app means your browser asks a web host for the files. Like any website, that host sees ordinary technical details of the request, such as your IP address, the time and what you asked for, and may keep logs for security and running costs. The web app and flowbient.com are served by Cloudflare, whose privacy policy covers those logs. Email to flowbient.com addresses is handled by Hostinger.
Notifications
If you say yes, the app can show a notification when a timer round ends. These are made on your device by your browser or phone. Nothing is sent to a server. You can turn them off in your browser or phone settings.
Links that share a mix
A share link holds the mix itself (the scene, sounds, volumes and music) and nothing about you. Whoever opens it gets that mix. Anything in a link is checked before it is used.
The live stream page and ?twitch=
Flowbient also has a page meant for live streams (stream.html). It works fully offline with pretend viewers. If whoever runs it adds ?twitch=somechannel to its address, then that page, running in that person's browser or streaming software, does the following:
- It opens a connection from that computer straight to Twitch's chat servers, signed in as an anonymous guest (a random name starting
justinfan). It does not use a Twitch account, a password or a token, and it can read chat but cannot write to it. - It reads the public chat of that one channel: each person's display name, what they typed, and Twitch's notes on bits, subscriptions and gifts.
- It uses those only in memory, for as long as the page is open, to show people in the scene, run chat commands such as
!walkand light a lantern for supporters. Names appear on screen in the stream. They are not stored by us and not sent anywhere by us. - Twitch can see the connection, as it can for any chat reader, and its own notices apply to that.
The page can also take ?bridge=, which connects to a small program the streamer runs themselves, for YouTube, Kick and paid events. That program is for the person running the stream, handles their own keys, and is not part of the app you use. If you are a viewer who chats on a stream, your name and message are public on that platform already; the stream page only shows them.
Children
Flowbient is not aimed at children and does not ask for anyone's age or details. [Owner to confirm the wording wanted here.]
Your rights
Because we hold none of your information, there is usually nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. If you think we do hold something about you, write to the address above and we will answer. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
When this changes
If Flowbient later adds accounts, syncing, paid plans, error reports or anything else that sends information to us or a partner, this notice will be rewritten first and the date above changed. For paid plans that will include the payment provider.
